Project Vision

Martin’s View presents an opportunity to address the ever-present need for more affordable housing units in the District.  There is a great opportunity here to not only provide new, high quality housing for existing residents, but also to create new, affordable housing options for others who wish to reside in this community. Redevelopment allows for the creation of brand new units on-site to accommodate both existing residents and new residents. 

The redevelopment will occur in several phases, with the first phase (or first building) targeting a construction start in mid/late 2025 and delivering the first available units by 2027.  The completion of all 4 phases will take approximately five years to complete.

Planned Amenities

The redevelopment will bring new amenity spaces for residents, including communal green space, a fitness center, a daycare, a community room, secure garage parking, and more.

Development without Displacement

"Development Without Displacement" is a multifaceted approach that emphasizes the need for urban and community development that uplifts residents and neighborhoods while preserving their existing social fabric and cultural heritage. This approach focuses on sustainable, inclusive growth and equitable policies to ensure that economic and infrastructural improvements do not lead to the forced displacement of vulnerable populations. This means that residents will not be displaced by this project. Each resident will work with the development’s relocation coordinator to move within Martin’s View or to an off-site unit of their choosing during construction.

Engagement Opportunities

The development team introduced the proposed project to the community at a Resident Open House held on Sept. 30, 2023. The development team is also engaging with the ANC 8D as part of the formal PUD process. Further, we will reach out to neighboring stakeholders to share the project concept and solicit additional ideas and input.
